Now that the weather has been getting warmer, it’s time to start planning for those outdoor parties with friends and family. From BBQs to potlucks and Cinco de Mayo’s to Fourth of July’s, I’ve got some major inspiration for you. This Cinco de Mayo themed tablescape incorporates lots of color and texture, and I’m walking you through a few products and strategies that will elevate your patio dinners. 

The focal point of every tablescape has to be a bold floral arrangement. A florist’s work will always have a big impact, but if you are bold enough to try your hand at making one yourself, I say go for it! I have been really into making faux floral arrangements myself recently, and this beauty has to be one of my favorites. So many bright, fun colors! I ended up making it for next to nothing because I used flowers from various arrangements around my house. Although nice artificial stems can be pricey, they last forever and can be used in a variety of different decor applications. Same goes with succulents. I have a little stash of faux cacti and succulents that have come in handy for several parties, showers, and displays. Hobby Lobby has a great selection of them too — just be sure to use your 40% coupon, as they do not qualify for the floral sales.

Once again Target steals the show. The runner, chargers, straws, taco stand, plastic plates and drinkware were all purchased from their stores.

The paper plates are also at Target and designed  by Brit + Co for Cheeky Home. They are only available for a limited amount of time though, so do not wait around if you have been dreaming of some adorable AND disposable dishware.

A cost effective way to display small bouquets and succulents is with colorful cans. These ones from Cento make a great addition to Cinco de Mayo decor. I also found these milky glass tea light holders at Dollar Tree and really love them. The white rocks were another Dollar Tree purchase and they brought some consistency to all the various botanical details.

And of course what would a Cinco de Mayo party be without all the Mexican flavors. These festive sweet potato and black bean nachos are a brainchild from the food genius in our ranks, Blakely.
