We Are Victorious 4.10.17
They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Blessed is the king of Israel!”
John 12:13
Yesterday was Palm Sunday, the day Jesus triumphantly entered Jerusalem. The people were worshiping Him, screaming His name and bowing down to the Son of God. Only a few days later would He be nailed to the cross and killed. He knew what He was walking into, yet He still entered the city without any hesitation.
How did Jesus enter the city with such confidence when He knew he was going to be tortured, beaten and crucified? Victory was on his mind. He knew that by the end of the week, He was going to conquer death and sin forever. His focus wasn’t on what was going to happen to Him. His focus was on the victorious outcome.
As Christians, we can walk with the same confidence. Through Jesus, we are more than conquerors (Romans 8:37). This week we celebrate because of Jesus, we are victorious! Sin has lost it’s power, death has lost it’s sting! Let’s be thankful this week and give Him all the glory.
