Patient Love 2.1.17

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.” 1 Corinthians 13:4

If you have been to Target (or any other grocery store) lately, you were without a doubt bombarded with L-O-V-E. In case you forgot, Valentine’s Day is in two weeks so “love” is very marketable right now. A lot of people do say that this is a holiday made up by women and/or paper goods companies, and I completely understand that logic. However, regardless of where the holiday originated, love is such an important topic and a major theme of the Bible and humanity itself.

The love described in this famous love chapter, 1 Corinthians 13, is not the passionate love depicted in most romantic films. 1 Corinthians 13 describes Agape love. It’s the love that is God himself. It is a consuming passion for the well-being of others.

In the next four weeks, we are talking about this type of love in all different relationships on the blog. It is our prayer that we fill the world with this love one heart at a time.
