Sappy Chick Flicks to RE-watch This Valentine’s

Love Movies

The month of LOVE is two days away! And the only thing I love more about February than Baskin Robbins’ flavor of the month is watching #allthechickflicks. Even if you typically prefer to ignore this exclusive holiday, you still probably enjoy the prospect of a good tear-jerker now and then. Today I’m sharing some of my all-time favorites.

1. Pride & Prejudice

Pride & Prejudice is my go-to movie when I need a feel-good, happy cry. It’s the essential and beautiful tale of improbable love, not to mention one the most beloved classic novels of all time. If you haven’t seen the adaptation featuring Kiera Knightley, you need to rent/buy/stream it immediately. It is not only my favorite romantic drama, but also in my top-20 favorite movies list.

2. Wicker Park

In my opinion, Wicker Park is the most underrated love story. And it’s got just the right amount of mystery and thrill mixed in to keep the attention of your male counterpart. Wicker Park is the second romantic drama in my top-20 list. Because, hello — Josh Hartnett, Diane Kruger AND Rose Byrne.

3. P.S. I Love You

If you enjoy starting out a movie by bawling your eyes out, P.S. I Love You is definitely the one for you. It has the wanderlust factor, the journey of self-discovery, and the intrigue of finding new love. What more could you ask for?

4. Now and Then

My childhood besties and I began watching Now and Then in the third grade, and even after my family moved away from our hometown, the five of us would continue to get together yearly and reminisce over it. So needless to say, Now and Then has a special place in my heart. Centered on the life and friendship of four girls, it will give you and your best girlfriends all the feels. That’s why it makes for the ultimate Galentine’s film.

5. Never Been Kissed

Loaded with tons of laughs, Never Been Kissed is in a league of it’s own among Rom-Coms. You can find the high school drama and underdog transformation that make this movie a late-90’s classic.

6. The Light Between Oceans

Ever since seeing this preview, I was captivated by the concept of The Light Between Oceans. Being unable to catch it in-theatres and hearing high praise from friends, it is definitely on my list of films to rent this February. I’m just trying to emotionally prepare myself beforehand.
