Relating to Each Other 12.1.17

“Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.” Romans 12:14-16

This entire chapter focuses on how how we treat each other. I heard a story today of a woman that attempted suicide because her church group wasn’t kind to her. This really broke my heart. As followers of Christ, we are called to love the least of these, and as this verse instructs, not be proud but willing to associate with people of low position. What if we didn’t even consider “position”? What if we just loved people with no pretense or expectation? My goal this holiday season is to consciously put aside judgement and really see people, to listen and to love.
