Mount Zion 12.8.17
“But you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly, to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God, the Judge of all, to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.” Hebrews 12: 22-24
I love the imagery in these verses of a city filled with thousands upon thousands of angels praising the name of God. Sometimes, especially during the busiest of times, I try to remember to sit back and really appreciate the magnitude of who God is. I should do it more often, but I think it’s easy to get into a routine and check off the boxes of quiet times, prayer, etc,. My goal leading up to Christmas is to reflect on the vastness of God and His love for His creation including me.
