Grace 11.11.16
“In Him we have redemption (deliverance and salvation) through His blood, the remission (forgiveness) of our offenses (shortcomings and trespasses), in accordance with the riches and the generosity of His gracious favor…” Ephesians 1:7 AMP
Can you believe that Jesus, God in the flesh, would sacrifice His own body and life for our shortcomings? By HIS Grace, we have been saved. Saved from death and destruction. Saved from eternity out of His presence. Saved from shame and defeat. Saved from a life without purpose. We sometimes minimize His sacrifice and forgiveness. The buzzwords float into our ears and out of our mouths – “Jesus died to save us from our sins.” – “I gave my life to Jesus.” – “Jesus sacrificed His life for mine.” Stop and think about that for a second. Jesus sacrificed His life like an actual lamb on the altar in the Old Testament.
Jesus, the only man who knew no sin (he never even had a sinful thought), was beaten and tortured to death. Really think about that. He did it for you and me and anyone who accepts his gift of Grace.
I hope that thought alone touches the core of your heart and encourages you to give Grace freely. Give it to the best friend that you are feuding with, the spouse that works too late, and the co-worker that doesn’t value you. Pass on the gift of Grace to them and watch God work.
They don’t DESERVE Grace, but neither do we.
