He Loves Us Too Much 6.28.17

You call out to God for help and he helps—he’s a good Father that way. But don’t forget, he’s also a responsible Father, and won’t let you get by with sloppy living.

1 Peter 1:17-25 (MSG)

Since February, I’ve gotten lazy in my walk with God. As I spent less and less time with My Father, I became less and less disciplined in every part of my life. My tongue got a little loose, my days got less productive and my love and grace for others lessened.

Does this ever happen to you? Life gets a little cray cray and God gets put on the backburner. Living on autopilot can be so much easier than living an intentional, purposeful walk with Jesus. But the bible says that living a life for Christ isn’t easy. (John 16:33) Our Father loves us way too much to let us get away with living lazy.

God will always gently remind us that we need Him to function. It’s our choice to take the notice to heart or ignore it. This past weekend, He showed me how much I need Him daily. He revealed to me that I was lashing out on people I love. My love tank was completely empty because I wasn’t filling up daily with the love of Christ. To love people like Jesus, I have to spend time with Jesus.

If you feel the Lord revealing something to today, I pray you listen. What an honor that the God of the Universe is speaking to you. Spend a few extra minutes today with your Father who loves you unconditionally. Don’t go another day without spending quality time with Him. He patiently waits and longs for a deep relationship with you.
