“Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of the righteous person is powerful and effective.” James 5:16

Sin is a part of the human condition, but that doesn’t mean that we should overlook it. I often find myself really embarrassed of my sins because “I know better”. I really struggle to share my sin with even my husband let alone anyone else. This verse is very clear that we are to confess our sins to each other and pray for each other for healing. My pride (also a sin) gets in the way of my confession because I don’t want anyone to think less of me or to know my struggles. Sin is darkness, and when we hide it, it stays in the dark. When we confess to the Lord and to others, that sin is brought to the light where true healing is.
