“But if anyone obeys his word, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.” – 1 John 2:5-6

One of the common questions in the Church touches on legalism. If we follow Jesus by faith, why must we follow his instruction?  This verse gives us the answer. We believe by faith and show love through obedience. We live as Jesus did.  Does this mean that each mistake takes a percentage point off our love for God? Of course not; however, the more that we know him, the more we are able to live like him.
