Doing The Impossible 6.14.17
Behold, I will do a new thing,
Now it shall spring forth;
Shall you not know it?
I will even make a road in the wilderness
And rivers in the desert.Isaiah 43:19
At the beginning of 2017, God gave Jermelle and I Isaiah 43:19 as our verse for the year. We posted it in the kitchen for us to see everyday. We felt like we were currently living in a desert and even though our surroundings were dry and we could not see anything happening, God was going to do the impossible. He was going to create “rivers in the desert”.
Fast forward to April when we found out we were having a baby girl and decided to name her Ria after her great-grandmother, Maria Burney. I later looked up the meaning of Ria. It means “river”. God knew what our 2017 looked like before it began. He knew were going to be blessed with a baby girl, name her Ria (our river) and start a new chapter in our lives.
Sisters, God goes before you. (Deuteronomy 31:8) All the struggles, fears, desires, failures and successes work together for your good. (Romans 8:28) We see God literally creating rivers in our desert and I have no doubt He is doing the same in yours.
For us to experience something “new” and see God do the impossible, we have to let go of our plan, trust His plan and keep our focus on Him. He knows what lies ahead, leading you every step of the way.
I pray you lean on Him as he creates “roads in your wilderness and rivers in your desert”.
