When Things Go Wrong 5.26.17
“I know the night won’t last
Your Word will come to pass
My heart will sing Your praise again
Jesus You’re still enough
Keep me within Your love
My heart will sing Your praise again”
Last Friday night, our house flooded. A pipe burst under our kitchen sink while we were snoozing away. By the time we woke up and heard the water, it was too late. There was over an inch of water throughout most of the house — all the baseboards, wood floors and kitchen island was ruined. It has been a huge pain in our you know what’s!
If I am going to be completely honest, we have battled daily not to let ourselves throw a pity party. We feel like we cannot catch a break over here. No job, now no house! (We are currently living in the Holiday Inn Express with two nutty english bulldogs!)
This song speaks to me in a way that really soothes my soul. Yea, we are going to have rough times but His Word does not lie. He has a plan, He’s working everything out for our good and why worry? He has overcome the world. Hard times don’t last forever but His promises do. No matter what, He is enough. He is all we need.
Today I put my trust in Him. I know this battle is part of His plan to mold me into the strong, faith-filled woman I am created to be. Through Jesus, we live in freedom because we know He is taking care of it all! Even when it doesn’t look like it. (Hebrews 11:1)
Are you trusting Him today? It’s an intentional decision, not something that comes naturally. Take it day by day, He will lead you through the craziest storm.
