Holiday Activities in OKC
I love all of the anticipation leading up to Christmas. I have since I was a kid. So we always try to fit in as many festive activities as we can before Christmas arrives. Oklahoma City has a lot of fun activities that just about anyone will enjoy from kids to great great grandparents! I’ve come up with a fun list of a few of the things that we do every year. Let me know if you have any to add to the list!
- Looking at neighborhood Christmas lights. This is something we started doing in college and love the nostalgia it brings. Some easy (and our favorite) spots to hit are Grand Boulevard in Nichols Hills and Heritage Hills between 13th and 23rd and Broadway and Classen close to Downtown OKC . These beautiful houses are completed decked out in Christmas cheer. Find some other places here.
- Checking out the shops + lights in Automobile Alley. This is one of my favorite spots in OKC during any season, but Christmas time is extra magical. All of the buildings have string lights draped down the front them. It is BEAUTIFUL! There are also some great shops and restaurants like Plenty Mercantile, Shop Good, Urbane, Sara Kate Studios, Cultivar, Red Prime, Broadway 10, and Coffee Slingers.
- Walking through the Myriad Gardens & ice skating at the Devon Ice Rink. Admission to the Crystal Bridge is FREE on Sundays so it’s a great day to head out and hit up the ice rink as well.
- Midtown Holiday Pop-Up Shops. The Pop-Up Shops are one of my absolutely favorite things. The retailers that fill the little domes change each week. So you can go back every week for a new experience. The best part – Katie Bug’s hot chocolate truck serves their famous beverage with the best homemade marshmallows!
