So his brother said to him, “Leave here and go to Judea, that your disciples also may see the works you are doing. For no one works in secret if he seeks to be known openly. If you do these things, show yourself to the world.” For not even his brothers believed in him.
John 7:3-5
I cannot imagine how it made Jesus feel when his own brothers didn’t believe in him. Can you imagine? It’s one thing when you don’t have the backing of strangers or people you are not close to but when your own family doesn’t have your back. That hurts. They wanted proof — then they would believe. There was no faith. Zero.
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
Hebrews 11:1
What type of Jesus follower are you? What type of faith do you have in Jesus? Are you like his brothers who doubted him unless he was performing miracles? Or are you a follower who is down for Jesus — no matter what. Even when your prayers aren’t being answered and you aren’t seeing what you want to see. Do you still believe in Him and His plan?
I long to be the type of believer who follows Jesus no matter what. I pray that today, no matter if we are in the middle of a miracle or living in the desert — we are 100% down for Jesus. We do not believe in Him because of what he does for us but because of who He is and what He did for us.
Praying for you today, sis.
