It’s a Daily Focus 7.14.17
Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 1:13
Every morning I intend to spend time with Jesus. But for some reason, lately — I’ve been finding other things to do. Not really anything that matters, of course. Like, sleep in 30 more minutes, shop on Amazon for baby goodies or scroll through Instagram. The God of the Universe wants to spend time with me and I’d rather scroll through IG? Now, that’s just sad.
When it comes down to it, busyness is one of Satan’s greatest weapons against me as he daily tries to come between me and my relationship with my Heavenly Father.
busyness: 1. foolishly or intrusively active 2. full of distracting detail
What is your daily focus? Your to-do list? Or God’s purpose He has on your life? Life can keep us busy and distract us from God’s calling on our lives. We have to stay in the Word, preparing for anything by spending time with Jesus. Throughout the day, the enemy shoots his fiery darts our way. If we aren’t prepared, how are we supposed to fight back?
This week I set an alarm to remind me to ask God each morning, “Father, what can I do for You today?” How can you make sure each day is aligned and focused on above? Everything else always falls into place when our eyes stay on Him.
