Best Brunch Spots in OKC

BRUNCH

I could talk brunch all day everyday. The midday meal that entangles breakfast and lunch is one of the only  times our society is okay with relaxing and enjoying the moment. We speed through our weeks but when it comes to Saturday morning, it is time to slow down, enjoy some great food and even better company.  I’ve compiled a list of some of my favorite spots in Oklahoma City.  Whether you live here or not, I definitely recommend trying these the next time you have a chance!

Packard’s New American Kitchen

Packard’s is the all-American brunch with a twist. It’s located in the old Packard Building downtown and the decor still has touches of the 1920’s. They locally source most of their ingredients and have seasonal offerings. With things like Crunch-Berry French Toast and the Fried Chicken Biscuit, they have something to offer everyone. I definitely recommend getting the Breakfast Board, the breakfast version of a cheese board. The Okcoffee is an adult iced coffee to die for, and the $3 mimosas are always a good choice.

Cafe Kacao

Cafe Kacao is a hidden gem that is not so hidden anymore. The building doesn’t do this place justice. It’s a family owned authentic Guatemalan restaurant that is serious about the coffee they serve. The Montuleno and Huevos Rancheros are always a good call. If you want to try something different, I like the Puertos Barrios Delight for a healthy option or the sweet Guatemalan oatmeal, Mosh.  For a super sweet treat, try the French Toast. Their extensive coffee list is also a must. The best thing about Cafe Kacao is they’re open for breakfast all week, but definitely note, they do not take reservations but are on Nowait App.

En Croute

En Croute is hands down my favorite spot in OKC of the moment. They have recreated a version of a European Fromagerie and Cafe in the heart of Oklahoma. With a straight forward menu of high quality ingredients, the food, drinks, and cheese might bring you in, but the warm atmosphere and pleasant staff will keep you here for hours. Their boards change daily, but ask the cheese monger what her favorite board of the day is. Unashamedly, I could eat the jam on the En Croute plate by the spoonful. As far as entrees go, you really can’t go wrong. I do like the Pear, Beet, and and Bleu D’Auvergne Salad and always give the grilled cheese (that changes daily) a try. They only take reservations for parties of 6 or more so I try to get there by 9:30 on the weekend to avoid a super long wait.

Kitchen 324

When you step inside Kitchen 324, you feel like you’ve been transported to a major metropolitan cafe. With the marble counter tops and kelly green sofas, the atmosphere is second to none. The Open Face Toast and Joenut of the Day are without a doubt my favorites. The coffee and cocktail list is also worth your time.

Cheever’s Cafe

No OKC brunch list is complete without Cheever’s. Owned by the same group as Kitchen 324, Cheever’s was originally a flower shop that has been preserved for true foodies to enjoy as a restaurant. Sit on the sidewalk if you can to enjoy the Fried Chicken and Waffles and a Homemade Cinnamon Roll. All of the salads are good, but my favorites are Sharolynn’s Salad and the Shaved Brussels Sprouts and Kale Salad. And don’t forget the Brunch Punch or a Mimosa!
