He’s Working It Out 11.29.16

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

Romans 8:28 (NIV)

This past February, my mom unexpectedly went to heaven. While traveling, she took a nap in the car and when my dad went to wake her up, she was gone. These past nine months have been rough. I find myself searching for peace and comfort. When I read God’s promises He has made to His children, I find peace.

As I start to slip into the dark place that depression and self-pity wants to take me, I have to quickly remind myself of the facts.

  1. John 3:16 God loves us more than we can imagine. He sent his only Son to die for our sins and screwups … which provides us the choice to live with Him forever.
  2. Romans 8:28 God would never hurt us. This scripture tells us that God uses everything (talents, mistakes, situations, circumstances) going on in our lives and makes it good. They all work together to create the perfect outcome. That’s how good He is.
  3. Psalms 86:15 God is a good, good Father (also, one of my favorite songs!). Our Father in Heaven looks on us with unconditional love. He is so very patient with His children and gives us chance after chance. He doesn’t give up on us.

No matter what is going on in your life, trust in His promises. Things are going to happen in our lives that don’t make sense. Trusting Him doesn’t take away the pain and tears, but gives us hope and comfort knowing that God’s way is best. He is going to provide. He always has and always will.

Keep up the good work little daughter. Mom was an inspiration to her family first then to everyone she met. Our pain will always be there but God continues to soften the impact. God & her are both smiling because you are continually carrying the message. Love you with all my heart ❤️️❤️️. Dad
