Do you ever feel exhausted by simply looking at your to-do list? You have so much to achieve in a day/week/month to get to your 1, 5, and 10 year goals. We live in a society that encourages striving, doing, and accomplishing every second of every day.

Some translations of this verse say, “Be still and know that I am God.” It is actually impossible to be still when we are caught up and often overwhelmed by our striving. Be encouraged that God commands us to be still and acknowledge Him. His Love and Grace. His work in our lives and hearts. His sovereignty and justice.

I encourage you to cease striving and be still for a moment today and thank God for who He is. Because without Him, nothing else matters.
