Favorite Post Workout Snacks

Let’s be honest, one of the main reasons I work out is so I can eat more. I just love food, who doesn’t? Usually, after a workout I am super hungry and ready to scarf down anything I can get my hands on. Which can be really dangerous!

It is so important to grab a snack after your workout to help rebuild your body’s glycogen stores and repair the muscle you just broke down. If possible, mix a protein and a carb. Below, I’ve listed my favorite post workout snacks – that just so happen to be super tasty!

  1. Peanut Butter Toast
Throw two tablespoons of natural peanut butter and half a banana on a piece of whole wheat toast (Ezekiel 4:9 is my favorite).
  2. Energy Bars*
These are my sweetie’s favorite snack — which is nice because they are super easy to make!
  3. Bowl of Cereal
Sometimes you just need a bowl of cereal to get you through the day. Most of the time, I’ll scramble two eggs and add in half a banana.
  4. Avocado Toast*
Avocado on anything is delicious. Am I right?
  5. Peanut Butter Chocolate Banana Protein Shake
This is my favorite protein. It’s gluten free, no preservatives or GMOs. Mix up half a banana, 1 tbsp of peanut butter, greek yogurt, protein powder, water and ice. That’s all it takes.
  6. Protein Pancakes
These are super duper easy to make. Add almond butter on top, of course.

What’s your favorite snack to refuel with? Please share! We love hearing from you.
